Broomball Canada's Anti-doping policy - keeping sport safe and clean
In the role of Canada’s national anti-doping organization, the Canadian Centre for Ethics in Sports (CCES) implements and administers the Canadian Anti-Doping Program (CADP) on behalf of the Canadian sport community.
The CADP is designed to prevent, deter and detect doping and serves to protect the integrity of sport and the rights of clean athletes.
Broomball Canada has adopted the 2021 CADP which means that you can be confident that you are part of a world-class anti-doping program that is designed to protect athletes’ rights and ensure a level playing field. Broomball Canada’s anti-doping policy and code of conduct reflect and support the CADP.
As a member of Broomball Canada, the CADP applies to you!
It is important to know that by participating in National activities sanctioned by Broomball Canada, you may be selected for doping control.
Important Information:
The CCES recommends that athletes take the following actions to ensure they don’t commit an inadvertent anti-doping rule violation:
- Know your rights and responsibilities as an athlete with regard to anti-doping.
- Log in and complete your CCES online anti-doping education at https://education.cces.ca.
- Always comply with a testing request if you are notified for doping control.
- Check all medications and products before taking them to ensure they do not contain ingredients that are banned.
- Verify your medical exemption requirements.
- Do not take supplements, but if you do, take steps to minimize your risk.
- Get the latest news. Sign up to receive CCES media releases and advisory notes.
National Athlete Requirements
- If you already have a CCES online learning account, login with your existing username and password at https://education.cces.ca. Your username is the email address used to create the account. Use the “Forgot Password?” function to retrieve your password if you have forgotten it.
- Your courses are available on your Dashboard or in My Courses. Click the one you want to launch. Depending on their eligibility, returning athletes receive True Sport Clean or The True Sport Clean Review. Athletes in the National Athlete Pool (NAP) must complete the Athlete Contract.
- If you are taking the CCES online course for the first time:
- You will be prompted to enter your name and your email address. Your email address will become your username.
- Enter a password that you will remember
- Log in with your new username and password
- You must complete the Profile module before your courses are assigned. Please ensure that your information is accurate.
- Return to the Dashboard or My courses to begin the course.
- Complete the course modules.
- The modules can be completed in any order and don't all have to be done at once.
- If you leave the module before it's completed, your progress will not be saved.
- Some of the modules are interactive, so be sure to follow the on-screen instructions and click around.
- Each module has a few questions at the end and those answers may be helpful when completing the final quiz, so pay attention.

- Save an electronic copy of your course certificate.
- Once you pass the True Sport Clean Quiz, follow the instructions to print and/or save a copy of your certificate.
- You can either take a screen shot of your certificate and save it as a photo file or print the webpage and save it to PDF.
- Without the certificate, there is no way for Broomball Canada to know that you've successfully completed the course, so don't close the page until the certificate is saved.

- Send a copy of your course certificate to Broomball Canada.
Therapeutic Use Exemptions
Athletes currently taking medications that appear on the list of banned substances as published in the Drug Classification Handbook must complete and return a Therapeutic Use Exemption Form to both Broomball Canada and CCES. Through this process you may be granted permission by the CCES to use this WADA prohibited substance or method during and out of competition.
Where do I apply for a TUE?
All Canadian athletes must contact the CCES for a TUE.
When do I apply for a TUE?
As soon as a prohibited medication is recommended to you by your physician, an application should be made. During the competitive season, an application must be submitted and approved at least 21 days prior to participating in a National event.
